(ST. LOUIS, MO) Iowa State junior forward Craig Brackins was named to the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District VI team, announced today by the USBWA. Brackins’ district consists of the best players in the states of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Oklahoma State’s James Anderson, Brackins’ teammate on the 2009 United States World University Games squad, was named the District VI player of the year. A native of Palmdale, Calif., Brackins was named all-district by the USBWA for the second consecutive season. Brackins was the only player in the Big 12 to rank in the top-10 in the league in scoring (16.5 ppg- 8th), rebounding (8.6 rpg- 5th) and blocked shots (1.2 bpg- 9th). His 13 double-doubles on the year tied for second in the league.
