(St. Paul, MN) Wayne State College was awarded the #2 seed for the NCAA Division II Central Regional Women’s Basketball Tournament in official pairings for the NCAA Division II 64-team National Tournament announced by the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Indiana Sunday evening. It’s the third NCAA tournament appearance for the Wildcat program in the last five seasons. Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado will serve as the Central Regional host with the tournament scheduled March 12, 13 and 15 (Friday-Monday).

The 26-4 Wildcats will face #7 seed CSU-Pueblo in a matchup of conference tournament champions. Wayne State captured the NSIC Sanford Health Tournament final on Sunday with a 77-67 win over Minnesota Duluth while CSU-Pueblo won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament title Saturday night with a 61-60 win over Fort Lewis College.

Fort Lewis College is the #1 seed and will face #8 seed Colorado Mines. Other first round matchups have #3 seed Concordia-St. Paul battling #6 seed Adams State of Colorado while #4 seed Augustana College challenges #5 seed Minnesota Duluth. Game times for the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Durango, Colorado will be announced on Monday.
