(Sioux City, IA) Todd Barry is one of the most successful College Basketball Coaches in the entire 6:15 a.m. Wake up and get in a quick 25 minute workout. I try to work out every other day and always on game day. 7:00 a.m. Eat breakfast, read the newspaper, watch Good Morning America 8:15 a.m. Arrive at the office
9:00 a.m. Meet with Assistant Coach Nick Nelson and reread/study the scouting report on our next opponent. We discuss the game plan and formulate the attack. 10:00 a.m. Begin preliminary work on practice plan 10:30 a.m. Continue work on recruit mailings. 11:00 a.m. General office work 11:55 a.m. Attend Mass 12:30 p.m. Go to lunch with Coach Nelson and the Women’s Basketball Coaching staff. 1:15 p.m. Donate blood 1:30 p.m. Complete practice schedule 2:30 p.m. Practice prep work 3:15 p.m. Practice 5:00 p.m. Grab a sandwich at Jimmy John’s as we hit the road recruiting. 5:15 p.m. Join Coach Nelson and depart for Council Bluffs 7:00 p.m. Tip-off 9:15 p.m. Speak with recruit and coaches following the game. 10:00 p.m. Leave to return to Sioux City 11:30 p.m. Arrive in Sioux City 11:45 p.m. Go to bed (This was a typical in-season Tuesday or Friday for Coach Barry during recruiting season. Coach Barry also made special mention that he believes there is a special place in heaven designated for coaches’ spouses!)
