Written by Wayne State Athletic Department

(Wayne, NE) Wayne State College head football coach Dan McLaughlin announced today that 27 student athletes have signed national letters of intent and/or written offers of admission and financial aid to attend Wayne State College and continue their football careers with the Wildcats. The 2010 recruiting class includes 25 high school recruits and two transfers. 20 of the 25 high school signees are from Nebraska with five from Iowa. The Wildcats signed nine offensive linemen followed by six defensive linemen, five wide receivers, four linebackers, one tight end, one quarterback and one running back.

“This is the largest signing class in the five years that I have been here,” said Coach McLaughlin. “Our focus this year was to sign offensive line prospects because we only signed two last year and I feel our hard work was rewarded with the signing of nine new offensive linemen. On the offensive side of the ball, we also added a quarterback, running back, tight end and five wide receivers. We also bolstered our defense by signing six new defensive linemen and four linebackers and we signed some quality kids from northeast Nebraska.”
