(Storm Lake, IA) The Iowa intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that BVU junior Morgan Darrow and senior Steven Ricke have been recognized by being named IIAC Performers of the Week for Track and Field.

Darrow won the weight throw and shot put at the BVU Graphic Edge Open Jan. 30. Darrow's mark of 49 feet, 1 inch in the weight throw set a new school record, breaking the old mark of 45-9 ¼ she posted last season. She won the shot put with a heave of 39-8. Ricke won the weight throw (49-1) and placed second in the shot put (46-7 ½) at the BVU Graphic Edge Open Jan. 30.

Ricke won the weight throw by nearly three feet over the nearest competitor (46-2 ¾).

It was the first time that either had recieved such honors in their respective careers.

Buena Vista will be back in action again this Saturday as it takes part in the John Dalton Invite in Vermillion, S.D.
