(Orange City, IA) Katie Vande Voort (Brandon, S.D. ) has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Northwestern College next year.

Vande Voort is 5’9” pitcher and leftfielder who has earned four letters with Brandon Valley and played softball for the Brandon Speed. Vande Voort hit .489 with seven doubles, two triples and one home run last year and played a key role on Brandon’s three state championships. On the mound, she went 21-4 with a 1.10 ERA and registered 18 strikeouts in one game. An outstanding student, Vande Voort plans to major in business at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Tom and Lisa.

“Katie is an outstanding athlete,” commented head coach Stephanie Kuhl. “She is going to be a great addition to our pitching staff as a lefthander. Katie will also be a huge offensive threat with her speed and power from the left side.”
