(Sioux City, IA) – Four Morningside College athletes have been named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in the sport of tennis. The Mustangs’ tennis scholar-athletes are: Matt Ford, a senior from Rice, Minn., who has a 3.67 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in business administration. Ford was also named a men’s golf Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete earlier this week. Marisa Graham, a junior from Sioux City, who has a 3.65 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and business administration. Kate Nelson, a junior from Schleswig, Iowa, who has a 3.69 cumulative GPA with a major in mass communication. Michelle Rubenking, a junior from Corning, Iowa, who has a 3.55 cumulative GPA with majors in advertising and graphic design. All four players also received Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors last season. Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
