Yesterday Notre Dame pulled the trigger on a move many have speculated about for the past four weeks. By firing Charlie Weiss, the Golden Domers return to a process that has plagued this football program since 1996 when Lou Holtz retired. Since that time they have had three Head Coaches, three BCS bids (one under Bob Davie: a 41-9 white-wash at the hands of Oregon State, and two under Weiss: a 34-20 lopsided defeat to Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl and an especially hard to watch Sugar Bowl in which Jamarcus Russell blasted ND 41-14), zero national titles and a boatload of criticism and dissent within the Irish Nation.

How did it come to this? How does one guy who acts so horrendously for so many years last this long? For former Kansas City Chief running back Larry Johnson he has cut and run, getting a free pass from possibly the worst team in the NFL and likely landing on a team that is destined for the playoffs. Nothing like acting the fool and getting rewarded for it.
