The Heisman Trophy was recently awarded in New York to Mark Ingram of Alabama. The award has great recognition and is talked about all season long. However, it’s time to separate fact from fictional, in regards to this prestigious award. I think it’s an overrated award more than anything until changes are made by the voters.

Now that we all stuffed our bellies with turkey and football, its time for the College Football Bowl Season to get underway. With that, comes a steady diet of meaningless, overrated games between two mediocre teams.

The year 2009 is almost over, and what a year it has been for Siouxland high school student-athletes. A veritable plethora of teams and individuals have captured championships during the calendar year.

The month of October is my favorite month of the year as a sports fan. It is the month where my three favorite sports converge. Baseball, college football and professional football are all going on. Every night of the month there seems to be something to excite or disappoint me in the world of sport.
