(Denver, CO) The 17th-ranked Wayne State College softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Division II Central Super Regional Saturday afternoon in Denver, Colorado, falling 6-2 in nine innings to the #4 Metro State Roadrunners at Auraria Field. Metro State wins the best of three series 2-0 and now advances to the NCAA Division II College Softball World Series next week in St. Joseph, Missouri with a 51-4 record while Wayne State ends the season with a mark of 43-14.
WSC Women's Basketball Adds Two Transfers for 2010-11 Season

(Wayne, NE) Wayne State College head women’s basketball coach Chris Kielsmeier announced today that two transfers will be joining the Wildcat program for the 2010-11 season. Eva Benson of Overton, Nebraska and Kara Powell of Hot Springs, South Dakota will both transfer to Wayne State and each have two years of eligibility with the Wildcat program.
(Wayne, NE) The Wayne State College softball team captured its first ever Northern Sun Conference Tournament title Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 win over 12th-ranked and NSIC regular season champion Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Wildcats earn the NSIC’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament with a 40-12 record following the win. It will be the second straight trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the Wildcats. Official pairings for the NCAA Division II National Tournament will be announced Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
