(LeMars, IA) Cole Heissel is a 6’6 240 lb. senior offensive/defensive lineman at Gehlen Catholic High School. He is one of the most dominating football players in Northwest Iowa and was recently named 1st Team All-State by both the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Des Moines Register. Cole has recently committed to continue his football career at the University of Iowa and was recruited by Offensive Line Coach Reese Morgan. He will likely play offensive line for the Hawkeyes, a position of much promise for prospective professional football players.

At 6’3” and 190-pounds, senior Drew Kellen could easily fit into a corner linebacker slot at the collegiate level. Add about 40 pounds of muscle to his tall frame, and you’d have an athlete with range, speed, and tenacity on your ball club.

– When you’re hitting .507, you’re doing something right, and Kayla Hatting of Le Mars-Gehlen is
doing just that. The daughter of Kirk and Patty Hatting, Kayla attributes her success to her father.
“I started out slow this season, but my
Dad worked with me on it [stance, swing and meeting the ball], and now it’s
working out pretty well,” Kayla said.
Comes this fall, she will be entering her senior year, and with it a
finale in volleyball, basketball and track.
Softball, however, is her favorite sport, one she hopes to carry on into
the collegiate level.
