(Sergeant Bluff, IA) - Dustin Hiserote doesn’t miss many extra points. In fact, he’s only missed one since he was given the placekicking nod two years ago when he began powering the ball through the uprights. The latter miss -- the only one in his three year career -- was Friday (Oct. 16, 2009) night versus Spencer.

(Sergeant Bluff, IA) – Abby Oliver, the daughter of Keith and Amy Oliver of Sergeant Bluff, is an SBL sophomore that seemingly flies through the air. Really. Honest. At the Marching Auxiliary held at the South Sioux City (NE.) Mini-Dome, Abby put on a dance display termed a lyrical solo, along with three other events: two with the SBL High School Dance Team, and a jazz ensemble put together by Dancing With Celeste of Sergeant Bluff.

(SBA) – Lou Solari went to Ankeny High School (1980-1984) and was a wrestler there – a heavyweight all four years – placed third at State and received a fu ll-athletic scholarship to the University of Missouri. He wrestled there (1984-1988) and along with doing exceptionally well on the mat, Solari also was selected All-Big Eight Academic both his junior and senior years at Columbia, MO.

(Sergeant Bluff, IA) – It’s been quite a few years – three at least – since the Siouxland Sports Authority first ran into SBL wrestler Damian Brand. The senior grappler, son of Derek and Michele Brand of Sergeant Bluff, now is smack-dab in the middle of his senior wrestling season, and from the early take it looks as if all systems are a (winning) go.

(Sergeant Bluff, IA) – Nine Sergea nt Bluff-Luton High School students, all seniors, joined the Iowa Air National Guard’s local 185th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) and will begin their career training upon graduation from SBL in May 2009. This is the first time ever that a large group of high school students from the same school and the same class have been recorded as joining at one time.
