(Des Moines, IA) The Iowa Newspaper Association announced its 2010 All-State Girls Basketball teams for Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A Tuesday, naming Carli Tritz of Sioux City Bishop Heelan as “Miss Basketball.”
(Sioux City, IA) The last four years have been among the best at Bishop Heelan High School, a Golden Age so to speak. In 2007 the ladies of Pride began a three year run of consecutive state tournament appearances culminating with a Class 3A State Championship in 2008. In that time there has been one constant. A player who stands at the precipice of an accomplishment few ever even consider. That one constant is Millie Niggeling.

Bishop Heelan's Edwards to be Inducted into Volleyball Hall of Fame

(Boone, IA) Sioux City Bishop Heelans Kim Edwards, Katie Koehnen of Dubuque Wahlert and Tripolis Megan Wittenburg are the newest members of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Unions Volleyball Hall-of-Fame. The hall-of-famers will be inducted between the Class 2A and 3A championship matches Saturday, November 14.
Buena Vista junior middle blocker Katie Vondrak (Sioux City, Iowa/Bishop Heelan) has been recognized for efforts on the volleyball court this season by earning Honorable Mention All-Iowa Conference honors as announced by the league office.
